CHICKENS

Chickens were first domesticated in Southeast Asia around 5400 years ago. The American Poultry Association recognizes over 450 different types of chicken. Raising chickens is an easy first step toward a more self-sufficient lifestyle. There is a type of chick suited for just about any goal: eggs, meat, dual-purpose, exhibition, limited space.

Not only do hens provide you with eggs, but chickens are great at eating weeds and insects, composting kitchen scraps, and creating fertilizer for your garden.

You can count on the Snohomish Co-Op to have what you need to support your flock: from supplements and chick supplies, to bedding, coops, nesting boxes, feeders, and treats.  One of our friendly associates will help you find what you need to keep your flock healthy and happy.
