Did you know that February is National Bird Feeding Month in the U.S.? This is the month where millions of people refresh their bird feeders, replenish their depleted winter supplies, and get out their binoculars and cameras to enjoy the tranquility of watching nature at their doorstep.
Your horse's coat is durable and provides a great protective layer. Their coats can be beautiful and unique with many people diligently grooming them in the dry and duster summer. The winter however poses a whole other obstacle altogether: Rain Rot.
In the winter the sap from the trees travels from the branches to the roots. This retraction is for the plant's survival to get it through the harsh weather found in the winter and provide adequate nutrients through those months. This transfer of nutrients is what makes transplanting in the winter also the best time of year, especially late winter.
